Twin, Queen or Kitchen Room? Choosing at Royal Luxe, Chennai

Hotel Royal Luxe has three room categories: the Deluxe Double (queen bed) and Twin Bed rooms, each from Rs 1,800 per night for one guest and Rs 2,000 for two, and the Deluxe Room with Kitchen from Rs 2,500 per night for two guests. Choose by bed layout and length of stay.
What are the three rooms?
Hotel Royal Luxe offers three categories. The Deluxe Double Room has a queen bed. The Twin Bed Room has two single beds, a desk and a wardrobe. The Deluxe Room with Kitchen has a queen bed and a private kitchenette. All are air conditioned, with free Wi-Fi and a cove-lit ceiling.
Rates are per room, per night: from Rs 1,800 for one guest and Rs 2,000 for two in the first two, and from Rs 2,500 for two guests in the kitchen room. Taxes should be reconfirmed when you book.
When does the twin room make sense?
Choose twin beds if you are travelling with a colleague, a friend or a relative and want separate sleeping spaces. It also suits one person who wants a desk to work at, since the room is set up with one. The price matches the queen room, so you are not paying for the layout.
If you are a family who wants to stay close, ask about interconnected rooms, which are available for families and groups.
If you remain undecided, think about the worst part of past hotel stays. If it was a bed you had to share with a snoring colleague, choose twin. If it was eating out for ten days, choose the kitchen room. If it was a cramped, cheerless room, any of the three should feel more comfortable than that.
You can also ask the team on WhatsApp. They know the rooms well and can tell you which are free for your dates, which saves guessing.
When is the queen room the better pick?
For solo travellers who like a larger bed, and for couples. The queen room has a wooden wardrobe, a dressing mirror and a TV unit, and the finishes vary from teal to maroon to warm neutrals.
If you take a lot of calls or work at a laptop for long periods, you may prefer the twin room's desk. For a short stay, the queen room is hard to fault.
When should you spend more on the kitchen room?
If your stay is beyond a few nights and you want to cook, the kitchen room is worth it. It is the only category with a kitchenette, and is from Rs 2,500 per night for two guests. It also has a flat-screen TV and a cove-lit ceiling.
On a short trip, you probably will not use the kitchenette enough to justify the extra. On a longer one, it may well pay for itself in meals you do not have to buy.
A quick way to decide
Ask yourself three questions. How many people are staying? Do they need separate beds? How many nights are you staying? One or two guests with one bed and a short stay points to the queen room. Separate beds, or a working stay, points to the twin. A week or more, or a wish to cook, points to the kitchen room.
There is no wrong answer, since all three share the same style and the same location in Thousand Lights West.
- One guest or a couple, short stay: Deluxe Double
- Two people who need separate beds: Twin Bed
- A week or longer, or you want to cook: Deluxe Room with Kitchen
What do the three rooms have in common?
Style and basics. Each room has air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a cove-lit ceiling and designer-finished interiors, and the whole hotel is smoke-free, with a lift and 24-hour reception. You are not trading quality for price, only layout and features.
Location is the same too. Hotel Royal Luxe is on Aziz Muluk 3rd Street in Thousand Lights West, about 3 minutes on foot from the US Consulate General and 3 to 10 minutes from Thousand Lights Metro. Apollo Hospital on Greams Road is 5 to 10 minutes on foot, and Sankara Nethralaya is about 1 kilometre away.
This makes the decision easier. You do not need to worry about which room is in a better area; just choose the layout that suits the people and the length of the stay.
How do you book?
